Your Certificate

Once this information has been formatted and calculated, your completed Energy Performance Certificate will then be sent to you via a link within an email.

How long is an EPC valid for? 

An Energy Performance Certificate will be valid for 10 years. You may want to renew your EPC if your looking to sell your home, you can use the certificate for property sales at any point during the 10 year period. If you have spent time updating the property and Working hard to improve the energy rating you may consider having another EPC survey completed before the 10 years is up to understand how your improvements have increased the rating on your properties energy performance certificate. The higher the EPC, the more attractive it will be to your buyers. This will help you make a greater selling point for your home. 

How long does an EPC take?

The size of the property impacts how long the EPC survey takes, this will vary from a flat to different sizes to a house. However, our domestic energy assessor will typically be at your property for around half an hour, looking at the different areas of your property. The domestic energy assessment is a non-intrusive look at your property, so you will not be expected to move anything in the property. 

Once all areas of your home have been assessed, it will take a few days for the EPC to be completed and online. As soon as we have a report, we will send it over to you via email and you will then get an official certificate with your final EPC rating on. 

What does an EPC assessment involve?

  • Floor plan using a laser measure 

  • Insulation (loft insulation/cavity wall insulation) 

  • Check water tanks

  • Primary heating systems (boiler/heating controls) 

  • Access into each room

  • Electric and gas meter 

  • Windows (if you have single/double glazing) 

  • Age construction and size of your property
